Spring is Sprung

This is very late but I’ve finally got around to posting these pics from the tail end of the Malta trip which are actually in Barcelona. And what could be more Barca than Gaudi? Also included though are a few from the Barcelona Cathedral (Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia!) as a counterpoint to the Gaudy confection known as the Sagrada Familia.

Meanwhile, back in Arcos de la Frontera, spring is starting to show more obvious signs of its progression with more flowers and leaves on some trees, but still in the earlier stages. There has also been a bit of rain while we were gone, as well as over the last few weeks, that has filled the reservoir and consequently the Guadalete River that snakes its way all around the town has been very full, enough to cut off some of our walking routes even. So here are more Aspects of Arcos in various states of change, including of course, the sky picture that opens this brief update (I have way too many photos of Arcos already).

One other thing of note is the celebration of Easter (Santa Semana) which in Spain and especially Arcos, is a very big thing, with a week (the semana part) of religious processions and partying, culminating in their very own bull run. Not to my tastes at all, but when in Arcos …

Hopefully I’ll have another, more interesting post in the next few weeks - not that Arcos isn’t interesting! But until then …
